Full job description
How often have you had an opportunity to be part of a team that is tasked with solving a huge business problem through disruptive, innovative technology? If you want to join a fast-paced, innovative team that is making history, reinventing an industry and breaking new ground for Amazon, this is the place for you!
Global Fleet org is expanding and introducing new capabilities to our Fleet Management business that supports all Middle Mile assets (tractors, trailers, box trucks, hostlers). In this role you will deliver world class solutions while wearing many hats and working in a highly collaborative environment that is more startup than big company. This role will require strong leadership skills, ability to identify trends with limited data and interaction/influence with teams across Amazon to drive the development of our maintenance business.
This Program Manager will be responsible for defining the vision, roadmap and driving program execution of our Fleet Management business. This will be achieved through deep supply chain understanding, working backwards from external partner requirements, and internal alignment with cross-functional business stakeholders. The role involves day-to-day interaction with external fleet management partners who operate and maintain Amazon's transportation assets, understanding their operational needs and converting them into efficient business models. You'll serve as the primary relationship manager for these strategic partnerships while coordinating with multiple internal Amazon teams to meet both short-term and long-term business objectives. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution while maintaining strong external partner relationships.
Up to 25% travel required
Key job responsibilities • Define program vision and roadmaps including short-term, mid-term, and long-term strategic timelines and phases. • Develop strategic documentation to gain stakeholder alignment and provide program status updates at key milestones. • Identify key performance metrics and create reporting frameworks that enable effective program management and scaling. • Lead cross-functional coordination with internal teams to resolve partner issues and deliver seamless program execution. • Standardize and optimize program processes to drive consistency, efficiency, and scalability. • Serve as primary relationship manager for external fleet management partners, ensuring high satisfaction and proactive communication. • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing program performance, gathering partner feedback, and implementing enhancements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of program or project management experience - Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership - Experience collaborating and influencing multiple teams across multiple organizations - Experience in transportation or supply chain within a high-volume logistics, manufacturing or engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience - Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.) - PMP certificate - Master's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field - Experience working in supply chain, transportation, project management or management consulting - Experience using data and trends to articulate business needs or equivalent - Experience managing competing priorities and using metrics to drive business decisions

Amazon is guided by four principles: customer obsession rather than competitor focus, passion for invention, commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.
Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.
Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.
You'll also hear us say that at Amazon, it's always "Day 1." What do we mean? That our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon's very first day - to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and focus on delighting our customers.
