Job Summary: | The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to both the assigned physician and patients. The individual in this position will perform a broad spectrum of duties related to the effective and efficient scheduling of patients for outpatient visits and procedure. This includes maintaining precise interactions with nurses, physicians, and any other departments or functions involved in the delivery of patient care services.
This role will communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure the availability of facilities and staff. The individual in this position will function as the liaison between the patient and the providers for all non-clinical issues, including scheduling procedures in both the minor procedure room and operating rooms, communicating pre-procedure instructions and appointment confirmations, insurance verifications, and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
