The Gas Controller Associate is responsible for monitoring real-time pipeline conditions via SCADA systems to ensure safe and efficient gas transportation. They must respond to alarms, manage system pressure, and coordinate with field technicians to maintain regulatory compliance.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends. Strong analytical skills, visual acuity for screen monitoring, and the ability to remain calm during emergencies are required.

Our pipelines serve major consuming domestic markets and transport approximately 40 percent of the natural gas consumed in the United States. Our pipelines are also connected to every important natural gas resource play and supply area in the United States, including the Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Bakken, Utica, Uinta Permian, Haynesville, Fayetteville and Barnett.
Primary responsibility is to be responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient pipeline operations. This is an entry level position to perform the job duties of a gas controller on any of the following systems: KMTP, Tejas, Copano or Kinder Hawk. The job location is Houston and the hours are 12 hour shifts. The controller will be responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient pipeline operations. Draft and distribute emergency response communiqués utilizing KM’s emergency response systems. Ensure smooth transition of shift turnovers through verbal and written communication. Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
