Our Opportunity

Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster:  8D6R7N7R FIFO ex Perth

This role is critical to maintaining safe and effective permitting coverage across the Solomon operations and is responsible for all isolation, tagging and permit requirements for the process plant in either a routine daily or shut down capacity.

The position is required to deliver Permitting and Specific Isolation Requirements (SIR) creation for all major and modular shutdowns at Kings Valley, Firetail, Solomon Stockyards, and the Queens Valley Crushing Hub. This position will be imperative to maintaining the safety of people and equipment in and around the plant. We will provide training to build your knowledge in isolations and permit issuing for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Scoping, work packing and isolation statement preparation for HV, LV and Mechanical work orders (PM01/PM02/PM05) for Fixed Plant shutdown and breakdown activities.
• Providing specialist support during shutdown execution to ensure optimal permitting and isolation coverage across KV and Firetail.
• Ensuring isolations and permitting are executed to the highest safety standard while minimising impacts to production targets.
• Daily inspections of work areas to ensure correct isolations are in place and are functional.
• Develop and execute permits and isolations for breakdowns and shutdowns. 
• Audit permits and isolations.
• Maintain the permit to work database. 
• Assist with preparing, planning and implementing all permitting and isolation plans prior to work commencing.

Qualifications and Experience

• Current WA Electrical Licence with high voltage experience.
• Mining experience in a FIFO role is essential.
• Experience in permitting and isolations is preferred.
• A high attention to detail.
• Computer literacy to work with a multitude of systems essential (training provided).
• Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement is essential.
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagram & electrical drawings is preferred.
