General Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Foreman to oversee electrical installation activities on multifamily construction projects. This position is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating daily work, monitoring productivity, and ensuring installations are completed safely, accurately, and according to project plans, schedules, electrical codes, and company standards.

 

The ideal candidate has strong multifamily electrical experience, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple phases of construction in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise electricians, apprentices, and other field personnel on multifamily construction projects.
• Plan daily work assignments, communicate production goals, and monitor crew performance.
• Coordinate electrical rough-in, underground, service, trim-out, and final installation activities.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, blueprints, schedules, and change orders.
• Ensure electrical installations comply with project requirements, applicable codes, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate work with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Monitor project schedules, labor hours, materials, equipment, and jobsite productivity.
• Identify material and equipment needs and communicate shortages or delays promptly.
• Inspect completed work, identify deficiencies, and ensure corrections are completed before inspections.
• Conduct safety meetings and promote compliance with company policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite procedures.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, production updates, and other project documentation.
• Train, mentor, and provide direction to less experienced field employees.
• Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and resolving field conflicts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Specific Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Previous electrical foreman or lead electrician experience, preferably on multifamily construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of multifamily electrical systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing.
• Ability to lead crews, delegate work, and maintain productivity while meeting project deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and applicable local electrical requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to track labor, materials, production, and project progress accurately.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with project teams and other trades.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
• Journeyman Electrician license preferred or required where applicable.
• Basic computer and mobile device skills for email, timekeeping, reporting, and project documentation.
• English speaking, reading, and writing skills preferred and required where necessary to perform essential job duties.
• Spanish-speaking skills are preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass applicable background and motor vehicle record screenings.

Education/Experience 

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience related to foreman responsibilities preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.

Phycial Requirements 

• Sit, stand, walk, and computer use.
• Hand movements, including typing and equipment operation.
• Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
• Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
• Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
• Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
• Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
• Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
• Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
• Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
• Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
