The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating machinery such as excavators and bulldozers for earthwork and site preparation. They must perform daily equipment inspections, conduct basic maintenance, and collaborate with site crews to meet project objectives.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and 2-3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment. A valid Class A or B driver's license and relevant certifications like OSHA 10-hour or NCCER are required or desired.
Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy and light construction equipment—including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, forklifts, and cranes—to support earthwork, material handling, and site preparation activities. This role ensures machinery is maintained in good working order, site hazards are identified and mitigated, and project objectives are met on schedule and within budget.
