Job Summary:
The Material Controller at Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, Texas, is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of materials and equipment for construction projects, ensuring timely availability and cost-effective inventory control.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, issuance, and tracking of project materials and equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records through a computerized system, performing regular cycle counts and reconciliations. Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and field personnel to forecast material needs and schedule deliveries. Identify and resolve discrepancies in material orders, deliveries, and stock levels. Ensure materials are stored safely and securely, adhering to company policies and industry best practices. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely material deliveries and returns. Prepare and process necessary documentation for material movements, including requisitions, purchase orders, and receiving reports. Conduct regular audits of material handling procedures and implement improvements. Assist in the disposal of surplus or obsolete materials in an environmentally responsible manner. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Job Qualifications:**
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in material control, inventory management, or a similar role, preferably in the construction or energy services industry. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. * Knowledge of construction materials and equipment is highly desirable.
