Lead the integration of maritime autonomy with tactical mission management systems to create a common manned-unmanned tactical picture. Manage the product lifecycle, collaborate with business development on market strategy, and provide technical guidance for the design and delivery of autonomy solutions.
Requirements
Requires 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and expertise in combat system software and autonomy platforms. Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance and be willing to travel 25-35%.
This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.
HII creates advanced unmanned solutions for defense, marine research and commercial applications. Serving customers in more than 30 countries, HII provides design, autonomy, manufacturing, testing, operations and sustainment of unmanned systems, including unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and unmanned surface vessels (USVs).

The Mission Management Lead drives the integration of HII’s Odyssey maritime autonomy with tactical mission management systems, enabling the integration of command and control, sensor management, data dissemination across unmanned and manned C6ISR systems, thereby creating a common manned-unmanned tactical picture, accelerating kill-chain decision making. Empowering autonomous platforms to participate and prioritize key targets enables strategic objectives across complex environments, given unmanned platforms’ unique ability to provide sensor data and effector support at scale and range. In doing so, you will work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and fellow Autonomy/AI leads, and you will deliver high value autonomy solutions to the market. This role can be located in our Pocasset, Mass office or VA Beach.
