About Us
With a history stretching back more than 70 years, AccessCNY is continually growing and expanding our reach. Offering person-centered services that empower individuals of all ages and abilities to reach their full potential as part of our community. Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
About the Role:
We are looking for a proactive employee to use their own experience and judgment to carry out the mission of DD/ABI Community Services, including: Community Outreach (including Comm Hab, Outreach, and TRAID), Day Habilitation, and Self-Direction.
Responsibilities include:
o Provide oversight in order to coordinate program services, following relevant state guidelines and best practices for optimal service delivery
o Develop a system to communicate with participants and families/advocates in order to monitor service satisfaction and ensure services are implemented as planned
o In conjunction with the COO and Directors, develop and implement a quality assurance program in order to monitor staff service provision
o In conjunction with Directors and the Behavioral Team; develop, and monitor the implementation of, program policies and procedures to ensure that service provision, safety and behavioral intervention procedures, etc. align with best practices
o Regularly review the status of participant safety, address any issues, as needed
o Responsible for the supervision of Directors and other assigned staff
o Oversee the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring, for the department, including clinical and administrative staff
o Assist in the development, and ensure the implementation, of an orientation and ongoing training program for the department
o Conduct performance evaluations of staff-initial, 6 month, and annual; document performance concerns and follow-up with disciplinary action, if necessary
o Ensure assigned management staff follow agency supervision and evaluation procedures
o Monitor and approve staff timecards through ADP, and monitor and approve staff mileage per Agency policy
o Ensure all department documentation is completed and maintained per Agency policy
o Complete required reports, as directed
o Ensure incident recommendations are completed in a timely manner, as needed
o Ensure that Plans of Corrective Action (POCA) are completed in a timely manner and implemented, as written
o Understand departmental budget and assist in its development
o Oversee and monitor all budgets, financial reports, and expenses for Community Outreach (including Comm Hab, Outreach, and TRAID), Day Habilitation, and Self-Direction
o Understand Medicaid and MCO (Children’s HCBS) billing regulations and the rate setting system; work with Finance to modify practices and spending in order to maximize rates/billing
o Establish and maintain a rapport with OPWDD, CNY Developmental Disabilities Regional Office (DDRO), MCOs, Children’s Health Homes, and other service providers; participate in external audits (OPWDD) and exit conferences
o Develop new HCS services to meet the needs of individuals requesting, or, receiving services
o Provide person-centered, quality, services
o Observe confidentiality and safeguards regarding all participant related information
o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as with company policies
o Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor degree in human services field, plus three years’ of experience working with people with disabilities, required. Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience, required. Knowledge of OPWDD and Children’s HCBS services and regulations, preferred. Public speaking experience, preferred.
Conditions of Employment
Must have a valid NYS driver’s license in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
