About Rivian
Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.
As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.
Role Summary
Rivian is looking for a Staff Product Manager to join the Autonomy team and own the globalization strategy for the Autonomy features. You will design and implement innovative product roadmaps and development processes to scale the features across North America, Europe, and other key regions, ensuring seamless production readiness with regional compliance. This role is critical to enabling the autonomy features programs to be deployed in global regions. We are looking for a strategist who can navigate diverse regional requirements, challenge conventional development assumptions, and construct compelling technical arguments and requirements. You will work closely with software development, data, validation and homologation teams to drive the acceptance of novel development processes and ensure successful feature deployment across global markets. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of software, system engineering, product strategy, data processing and global scaling.
Responsibilities
Define and manage the globalization product strategy for the Autonomy features, ensuring alignment with regional regulatory and consumer rating requirements, while establishing the associated product requirements and process frameworks to demonstrate the compliances.
Collaborate deeply with software development, validation, and homologation teams to drive end-to-end feature deployment plans, including clear ODD (Operational Design Domain)/ KPI definitions and regional expectations across North America, Europe, and other key regions.
Align feature performance with global standards and consumer rating targets (e.g., US NCAP, Euro NCAP, FMVSS, ECE) utilizing fleet data with dashboards to track performance and ensure high-quality user experiences in every market.
Develop data-driven product narratives that ensure Autonomy features meet global scaling needs and production readiness standards by tracking KPIs from both virtual and physical tests.
Drive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, strategy, insurance, homologation teams to ensure global operational requirements are embedded into the product development process.
Build alignment on virtual testing and simulation strategies to accelerate global validation and each feature maturity and compliance over time through regular, continuous OTA updates.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Deep knowledge and experience on ADAS (Active Safety) and/or Automated Driving features. A proven track record of developing features and bringing them to production is required.
Experience managing feature roadmap and requirements with a focus on global standard, regulation, consumer rating perspectives.
Ability to work closely with each software development and validation/homologation teams to ensure feature deployment and software release to the target regions.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex engineering data into compelling regulatory arguments and consumer safety expectations. Bonus : Experience convincing technical authorities to accept novel approaches rather than just satisfying pre-defined checklists.
Familiarity with US state and EU regulatory frameworks, including testing permit structures, operational requirements for autonomous driving vehicles, and the state-by-state legislative landscape for autonomous vehicle deployment.
Broad understanding of automotive components, development tools, and systems engineering processes.
Mastery of data-driven storytelling: using large-scale data to identify trends, validate hypotheses, and build the case for mission-critical decisions with external stakeholders.
Proven ability to root-cause analysis on complex issues across the stack and implement solutions in real-time safety-critical systems.
Ability to drive progress across a multi-domain, multi-component system in a fast-paced development environment.
Strong communication and leadership skills; able to guide cross-functional engineering teams through complex regulatory and consumer rating requirements
Highly motivated to take features from R&D through to production-ready, certified, and operationally permitted products.
