The Head Route Setter leads the local setting team to ensure the quality, safety, and consistency of all climbing routes and boulders. They are responsible for scheduling, hold maintenance, and collaborating with management to enhance the gym's climbing experience.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of route setting experience and hold PRS 2 and WAH 2 certifications. Physical ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs is required.
Summary
The Head Route Setter leads the local setting team, overseeing all aspects of route setting operations and maintenance. They ensure consistency, safety, and quality across all routes and boulders, while mentoring Assistant and Apprentice Setters. The Head Setter collaborates closely with management and the Regional Director to deliver the best possible climbing experience for the gym community.

Central Rock Gym provides the highest quality indoor climbing experience for beginner to advanced climbers. Our route setting, friendly staff and cleanliness give you the ability to train your hardest and push yourself to the limit, while the community of climbers will provide a great source of fun, and a place to engage with others. Our rock wall designs are state of the art and include the best top-roping, leading, and bouldering around. Walltopia and Rockwerx have worked in some of the best slabs, lead arches, aretes, beginner areas and steep slopes that any gym has seen, while maintaining open areas for competition viewing and relaxation between climbs. In addition to our climbing, we offer exercise equipment, a weight training area, yoga, and comfortable areas for parents to watch and relax with wireless internet. We host incredible group events and have the multifunctional spaces to provide food and refreshments.
