POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of all marketing, entertainment, player development, and loyalty initiatives for Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center.
As a member of the property's executive leadership team, this position develops and implements innovative marketing strategies that drive visitation, gaming revenue, entertainment attendance, guest loyalty, and overall profitability. Oversees advertising, branding, database marketing, player development, promotions, special events, entertainment programming, public relations, digital marketing, and the Cedar Crossing Discovery Club while ensuring all initiatives align with the property's vision and long-term business objectives.
The successful candidate is an innovative, data-driven leader who inspires high-performing teams, embraces creativity, and understands that every marketing decision is an opportunity to strengthen guest relationships and bring the Cedar Crossing Discovery brand to life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the property's comprehensive marketing strategy to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share.
Establish annual marketing plans, budgets, performance objectives, and departmental priorities.
Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the property.
Analyze market trends, competitive activity, guest behavior, and business performance to identify growth opportunities.
Brand & Advertising
Protect and strengthen the Cedar Crossing brand across all guest touchpoints.
Direct advertising, media buying, creative development, digital marketing, public relations, and social media strategies.
Ensure consistent brand messaging and visual identity throughout all marketing communications.
Evaluate advertising effectiveness and optimize marketing investments.
Database Marketing & Loyalty
Provide strategic oversight of the Cedar Crossing Discovery Club and all player loyalty initiatives.
Direct database marketing strategies, player segmentation, reinvestment programs, and direct marketing initiatives.
Develop programs that increase guest visitation, loyalty, and lifetime value.
Entertainment & Guest Experience
Oversee the property's entertainment strategy, including concerts, comedy, special events, and programming within the Event Center, Compass Center, and other entertainment venues.
Ensure entertainment programming complements the Cedar Crossing brand while driving visitation and revenue.
Collaborate with operations to create memorable guest experiences across the entire property.
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing organization.
Provide leadership to Player Development, Marketing Operations, Entertainment, Database Marketing, and related departments.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and exceptional guest service.
Establish performance expectations and promote continuous professional development.
Financial & Operational Management
Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Monitor marketing reinvestment, promotional effectiveness, and return on investment.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, gaming regulations, and applicable laws.
Build productive relationships with advertising agencies, media partners, entertainers, sponsors, and community organizations.
Monitor marketing analytics and guest response to maximize return on investment.
Additional Responsibilities
Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established procedures with company policy and state regulations.
Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.
Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Seven (7) years or more years of progressive casino marketing leadership experience, including senior management responsibilities. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Demonstrated success leading advertising, database marketing, player development, promotions, entertainment, and brand strategy. Strong financial acumen with experience managing marketing budgets and analyzing business performance. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Proven ability to inspire teams, manage change, and build collaborative relationships across multiple departments. Thorough understanding of casino operations, gaming regulations, player loyalty programs, and entertainment marketing.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
Obtain and maintain required license(s).
Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.
Work in hot kitchen conditions.
Ability to stand, walk, bend for entire shift.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission License
Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three (s) years driving experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will manage subordinates who may supervise Team Members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit(s).
