The Yard Hand is responsible for managing all yard operations, ensuring safety, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. They must also provide excellent customer service to truck drivers and customers while ensuring product quality and adherence to company policies.
Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of a grade 12 education and at least two years of previous yard experience. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs and a professional, reliable attitude are essential for this fast-paced role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all yard operations, safety, and housekeeping
Ensure proper procedures are followed for accessing and departing the yard
Ensure high level of customer service both for truck drivers and customers
Direct and control all activities in the yard
Maintain high level of product quality
Work towards achieving company objectives regarding productivity, customer service
Maintain a clean organized yard
Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures
Ensure a positive and safe work environment
Other duties as required
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Reliable, ability to carry out tasks correctly while under pressure
Be able to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to follow instructions meticulously
Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
Team player, adaptable, energetic with a positive professional attitude
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Excellent customer service skills
Problem solver and able to deal with product and people issues that may occur
Strong communication skills
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Minimum grade 12 education required
Previous Yard experience - min 2 years
Knowledge of plumbing and/or electrical industry products will be considered an asset
Forklift Experience an asset
