Carpenter Technology’s high-performance materials and advanced process solutions are an integral part of critical applications used within the aerospace, transportation, medical and energy markets, among other markets. Building on its history of innovation, Carpenter Technology’s wrought and powder technology capabilities support a range of next-generation products and manufacturing techniques, including novel magnetic materials and additive manufacturing. Carpenter’s Latrobe Specialty Metals operations, based in Latrobe, Pa., was acquired by Carpenter Technology in 2012 and manufactures high-performance specialty alloys serving aerospace, energy and other demanding markets.
Primary Responsibilities for the Shipping Coordinator:
Responsible for the receipt and shipment of incoming materials, supplies, and products.
Receives goods, verifies items against the record of shipment, and inspects condition.
Gathers, verifies, and packs items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used.
Records received and shipped items according to established procedures.
May route incoming items within the company as directed.
Required for the Shipping Coordinator:
High school diploma required.
3+ years of relevant work experience (shipping, material handling or administrative support).
Preferred for the Shipping Coordinator:
Problem Solving: Solves routine problems by using standard procedures and/or processes.
Customer Response: Responds to standard requests from internal or external customers.
Planning and Organizing: Manages own time to meet deadlines through guidance of others within a specified timeframe.
Teamwork: Works with others within own area or department to achieve team goals; scope of basic knowledge and skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
