The Bus Aide is responsible for ensuring the safety of students during boarding, transit, and departure. They assist the driver by maintaining a safe environment and performing child checks at the end of every route.
Candidates must be physically capable of kneeling, bending, stooping, and ascending/descending bus stairs. The role requires the ability to fasten wheelchair restraints and secure children in seats.
Responsibility Profile:
Help the Driver focus on driving the assigned vehicle.
Greet students in a pleasant manner.
Help students as necessary.
Ensure all students arrive safely at their destination.
Perform child checks at the conclusion of every tour of duty.
Always maintain a safe environment on the bus.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Kneeling and fastening wheelchair restraints
Bending and stooping as needed to assist with various tasks
Ascending and descending stairs of school bus
Fastening children securely in seats
Performing other related tasks as required
