Family & Children's Center is seeking a full-time Medical Administrative Assistant to join our Viroqua and Revenue Cycle teams. In this role, you'll be an essential part of our mission by supporting clients, providers, and the revenue cycle process that helps make quality behavioral health and family services possible.
Every successful client experience depends on a strong administrative team. Your work behind the scenes helps ensure timely billing, accurate insurance processing, and a smooth experience for the people we see. By joining our Revenue Cycle Department at our Viroqua office, you'll play an important role in helping families access the behavioral health and community services they need.

What You'll Do
As our Medical Administrative Assistant at the Viroqua office, you'll play a key role in both front-office operations and revenue cycle support by:
Verifying insurance eligibility and collecting required benefits documentation Supporting billing, claims, and payment processes Entering and maintaining accurate client, financial and electronic health records Assisting with authorizations, referrals, and insurance follow-up Greeting clients and creating a welcoming, professional experience Responding to patient billing questions with professionalism and compassion Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and assisting with client inquiries Preparing reports and completing administrative tasks to support clinical staff Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient office operations Maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive client information in accordance with HIPAA regulations

Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Patient Services Representative, Medical Receptionist, Medical Billing Specialist, Insurance Verification Specialist, Intake Specialist or Revenue Cycle Specialist Experience with medical billing, revenue cycle management, insurance verification, patient records and accounts, claims processing, or healthcare administration Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Experience working in behavioral health, medical or healthcare settings is a plus
