The Surgical Tech Educator oversees the onboarding, training, and competency assessment of surgical technicians and operating room staff. They serve as an expert consultant for sterile technique and collaborate on Peri-Op 101 training programs.
Candidates must hold a certificate or diploma from an accredited surgical technologist program and possess at least 5 years of operating room experience. Current CST or TS-C and BLS certifications are required.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Oversee the TJUH surgical technician training program in collaboration with MedCerts
Onboard new hires
Provide education to new and existent operating room staff (surgical techs and RNs)
Serve as an expert to all procedural areas regarding sterile technique
Provide education and training in the scrub role to the Labor & Delivery Department
Assist with training for the Peri-Op 101 program
Oversee surgical technician students from affiliated programs
Other duties as assigned
Aseptic technique, knowledge of various surgical procedures, proper handling of surgical instruments, ability to teach skills required of a surgical technician
Certificate or diploma from an accredited surgical technologist program.
CST or TS-C, BLS

Previous teaching experience a plus.
