The Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, and executing physician orders. They also perform direct patient care tasks such as rooming patients, taking vitals, and administering medications under supervision.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have completed a Medical Assisting program or have 5 years of relevant experience. Additionally, a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a recognized Medical Assistant certification are required within specified timeframes.

Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person.
Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

Required Program Medical Assisting
In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience-Required
Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
