About the Role:
Mt. Pleasant Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is looking for a friendly and organized Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our practice in Thornwood, NY. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated healthcare team where your people skills and attention to detail will make a real difference in patients' lives every day.
Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner upon arrival
Answer and direct incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk calendar
Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service
Maintain and update accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) software
Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and communication between patients and clinical staff
Manage patient intake forms and ensure all required documentation is complete
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Requirements:
Prior experience in a medical front desk, healthcare receptionist, or administrative role preferred
Familiarity with medical insurance verification and billing processes
Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and general computer skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
