The Ophthalmic Technician assists physicians by performing clinical intake, conducting a wide range of diagnostic vision screenings, and supporting minor surgical procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining ophthalmic equipment, managing clinical inventory, and educating patients on medication and post-operative care.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician. A Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification is required, or the candidate must be enrolled to complete it within two years of hire.

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role as an assistant to our physicians. You will be cross trained to perform a range of administrative and clinical duties. These duties include preparing the patient to see the physician, preparing examination rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, cleaning, and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures.
