This is a temporary, 12 week position.
HRI Hospital is 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. The Nurse Educator is responsible for promoting, planning, designing, coordinating and evaluating hospital-wide training and educational activities. Responsible for staff retention by providing on-site training and education. Serves as a liaison for hospital and agency staff. Maintains required educational and/or clinical competencies.
Responsibilities
Develops implements and evaluates programs based on results of annual survey of educational needs and to meet the needs of orientation, skills training, leadership and management training and continuing education.
Teaches and/or coordinates in-service presentations relevant to the identified learning needs of the staff.
Knowledgeable about patient care at all levels by making rounds attending staff meetings, and serving on appropriate committees; resource for psychiatric/medical care issues.
Provides coverage on unit based on hospital needs and other related duties as required, including Nursing supervisor coverage.
Effectively coordinates on-going staff education by floating to all units and providing real time education throughout the day.
