The Ministry of Education and Childcare is seeking a Resource Compliance Analyst to lead and coordinate procurement, contract, grant, and licensing activities that support learning and teaching resources for Alberta's K–12 provincial curriculum. Reporting to the Manager, Resource Management, you will play a key role in ensuring resources are procured, licensed, managed, and delivered in compliance with government legislation, policies, and contractual obligations.
This position works collaboratively with internal program areas, Contracted Services Management, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to support procurement processes, manage compliance requirements, and provide strategic advice related to contracts, grants, intellectual property, and resource management.
Responsibilities As the Resource Compliance Analyst, you will:
Lead and coordinate procurement activities, including Requests for Proposals, contracts, grants, and licensing agreements for learning and teaching resources.
Provide advice and recommendations on procurement, contract management, grant mechanisms, licensing, compliance, and related policy requirements.
Develop, communicate, and maintain guidelines, procedures, templates, and best practices to support procurement of learning and teaching resources
Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, due dates, timelines, close-out reports, and related documentation to ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and agreements.
Support intellectual property and copyright compliance practices related to learning and teaching resources, including required use rights and documentation.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, Contracted Services Management, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Research emerging issues, opportunities, trends, and challenges related to procurement, learning resources, resource utilization, and compliance requirements
Prepare briefings, correspondence, reports, recommendations, communications, and responses to information requests for leadership and ministry stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement of processes used to provision, manage, integrate, and retain learning and teaching resources for Alberta’s K–12 curriculum.

1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education
The successful candidate will have experience and demonstrated ability in:
Managing or supporting procurement activities, contracts, grants, licensing agreements, or related compliance processes.
Interpreting and applying contract, grant, procurement, copyright, intellectual property, policy, or legislative requirements
Conducting research and analysis to provide sound advice, interpretation, recommendations, and guidance.
Managing a large and complex workload, prioritizing competing demands, and meeting deadlines in a changing environment.
Preparing clear written materials, reports, briefings, presentations, correspondence, and communications for internal and external audiences.
Working independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team environment. The following will be considered
Assets:
Experience with Government of Alberta procurement, contract management, grant management, or policy processes.
Experience working with vendors, contractors, internal business areas, or external stakeholders.
Experience supporting digital resources, learning resources, intellectual property, copyright, records management, or asset management.
Knowledge of procurement-related directives, trade agreement requirements, sole source requirements, contract management policies, or conditional grant policies.

This is a permanent onsite position for one year working full-time (36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday).
