Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. 

Accountabilities

• Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
• Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
• Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
• Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
• Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
• Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
• Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

As an Investment Implementation VP within Oak Pensions Asset Management, you will be responsible for the effective implementation/ execution of the investment strategy across the portfolio; ongoing operational support and oversight; and operational risk management/ mitigation. The role encompasses the delivery of investment implementation activity, including the onboarding and transition of external investment managers, development and maintenance of investment infrastructure, oversight of cash and liquidity management, and monitoring, management and mitigation of operational risks.

Implementation of Investment Strategy

• Lead investment implementation activity across internal and external stakeholders, including managers, custodians, and advisers
• Manage operational & legal due diligence for investment changes, including reallocations, IMAs, and custody arrangements
• Oversee contractual and markets documentation, onboarding, and cash, liquidity, and FX processes
• Maintain a deep understanding of multi-asset class investment strategy and its operational implications across the portfolio

Portfolio Management – Operational Support & Oversight

• Utilise Aladdin and related systems to support portfolio implementation, transaction lifecycle oversight, and data integrity
• Support data, controls, and onboarding processes, ensuring accuracy across reporting and decision‑making systems
• Maintain knowledge of private assets, derivatives and oversee e2e transaction execution and cash management
• Contribute to supplier oversight and operational due diligence, stakeholder management ensuring service quality and issue resolution

Operational Risk Management & Mitigation

• Ensure all activity align with governance standards, robust controls, supporting documentation, and audit trails
• Identify and lead on risk mitigation and process improvement initiatives including use of AI tools
• Oversee operational readiness for new investment products and system capabilities for new assets

To be successful as an Investment Implementation VP, you should be able to demonstrate:

• Experience working in Investment Bank, Asset Management, Consulting, Operations, or Risk and Control Function
• Experience with front office portfolio IMS systems (e.g. ideally Aladdin and CRM systems)
• Confident with good verbal and written communication skills with excellent organisation, prioritisation and leadership skills

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Investment operations and working knowledge or understanding of global custodians and Swift
• Experienced in, or had exposure to, Pension Fund investment operations or transition management
• Project or change management execution experience
