Fortescue is seeking an experienced Conveyor Belt Technician to join our team at Christmas Creek. Reporting to the Ore Processing Facility (OPF) Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of our conveyor systems by delivering high-quality maintenance, repairs and continuous improvement across the fixed plant.
Key Responsibilities
Install, inspect, maintain, and replace conveyor belt scraper systems and related components.
Adjust and calibrate primary, secondary, and tertiary belt scrapers.
Install rubber linings to pipes, spools, launders, chutes and associated equipment.
Installation and adjustment of belt tracking devices
Maintain conveyor belt hygiene and housekeeping standards across the fixed plant operations.
Operate conveyor belt handling equipment including winders, winches and belt stands.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and accurately record work in the asset management system (PDS).
Identify opportunities to improve conveyor reliability, performance and safety.
Qualifications and Experience
Level 2 or Level 3 Scraper technician Qualification (or equivalent).
Trade qualification for fabrication (Desirable)
Minimum 2–5 years' experience maintaining conveyor systems or similar mechanical equipment.
Experience maintaining conveyor belt scrapers, cleaners, or conveyor accessories.
Experience working with conveyor belts, pulleys, idlers, rollers, and transfer systems
Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. SAP, PDS).
Strong understanding of maintenance and production strategies for large-scale continuous processing plants.
Proven commitment to safety, hazard identification and achieving zero harm outcomes.
Ability to work effectively within a team while managing competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
