Position Overview:
CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an AV Project Engineer who will be responsible for developing audiovisual (AV) design requirements on various projects. This is a hands on role that will work with a team of engineers to design energy efficient buildings for various clients and will be involved in all phases of the project. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who thrives on helping our team and clients be successful while having a strong technical background. This position will be located onsite in our Minneapolis office.
Key Responsibilities:
Ability to develop audiovisual design requirements by meeting with and discussing clients’ requirements while working with the internal design team.
Design and coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines of audio/video systems for, but not limited to, boardrooms, collaboration rooms, huddle spaces, town hall venues, conference, and multipurpose rooms.
Develop 2D and 3D drawings for architectural layouts of AV equipment and system schematic diagrams.
Organize and lead coordination meetings and take detailed meeting minutes.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s in Engineering or related discipline; CTS certification is a plus.
2+ years of experience in AV designing, planning, and project management.
Working knowledge of key audio, video, and audiovisual products from major manufacturers.
Working knowledge of computer networks as they pertain to both IP based audio and video signal transport and UC (Unified Communication) based video/audio conferencing.
Expertise with sound systems, including microphone, and speaker requirements, and their placement and integration in acoustic environments.
AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency.
AVIXA CTS/CTS-D and manufacturer sponsored certifications are a plus.
Basic knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project expected.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000. This role is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and payout are determined by role, individual performance, and company performance, and are not guaranteed.
