The Patient Access Representative registers patients for clinical services by obtaining demographic and financial information and verifying insurance eligibility. They also handle authorizations, collect payments, and maintain accurate documentation within the system of record.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Proficiency in data entry, effective communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information are required.

The Patient Access Representative 2 (On-Site) registers patients for clinical services by obtaining pertinent information, verifying insurance benefits, explaining pertinent documents, and collecting payments.
1. Obtains, confirms, and enters demographic, financial, and clinical information necessary for
financial clearance of scheduled patient accounts.
2. Contacts patients’ families or physicians’ offices to obtain missing insurance information.
3. Verifies insurance and confirms insurance eligibility of patient coverage benefits, notifying patient
and referring physician in the event of failed eligibility.
4. Collaborates with scheduling departments to identify add-on patients.
5. Obtains necessary authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals.
6. Notifies patients of liabilities and collects funds.
7. Maintains appropriate records, files, and accurate documentation in the system of record.
8. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 year of relevant experience
General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
