About The Role
Our Professional Services practice is looking for a dynamic and results oriented Account Manager to join their growing practice in the Toronto office. The ideal candidate possesses experience in professional liability/errors and omissions, directors’ and officers’ liability, cyber and property & casualty insurance with an emphasis on professional services firms. This is an ideal role for someone who is hands on and client centric, focused on retention and growth. This is a great opportunity to work in a specialty practice and to grow the book of business. This role reports to the Vice President, Professional Liability.
What You’ll Do
Manage an assigned book of business
Effective communication with commercial clients.
Creating effective strategies to address client transactions, negotiations and ability to lead discussions.
Coverage design/analysis: coverage triggers, definitions, exclusions, claims made treatment, and continuity
Assume various roles dependent on account: marketing, account back up, lead broker, processing/associate tasks when required etc.
Marketing: Identifies the client or prospects’ circumstances and placing their deal in the marketplace.
Participating in Underwriter conference calls and client meetings
Helping clients select amongst competing quotes
Participate in formal presentations, including at the C-Level
Provides feedback for the annual budget planning process
Consistently Monitor and Follow Up with Clients on Aged Receivables
Collaboration with account team including coaching and mentoring
Utilize CORE for any new business opportunities and utilize Claude to assist in daily functions
Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success
RIBO Licensed
CIP, FCIP or CRM Designation desired
Minimum 5 years’ experience in professional liability (E&O)
Experience on Epic broker management system or other BMS
Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Ability to manage and mentor support staff
Strong organizational, time and client management skills
Effective communication skills: verbal, written and presentation skills
Proactive and customer focused approach; resourceful researching skills
Analytical and strong decision-making skills
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance industry trends
Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel up to 25% across Ontario for client meetings

The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., base salary plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate’s book of business at a particular time. The expected base salary for this position is $69,000-$77,000 plus commissions will be paid based on successful sales performance. The total compensation will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
