The manager will lead a team in designing high-voltage electric transmission systems while overseeing project performance, client relations, and staff development. They will also apply engineering standards and digital design platforms to ensure efficient grid modernization and project delivery.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with at least 12 years of relevant experience in high-voltage transmission design. A Professional Engineering (PE) license in at least one U.S. state is required.
We are seeking a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer who will manage a collaborative and dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as a Supervisor and Engineering Lead on high voltage electric transmission line design projects of overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country as well as regional utilities. The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of all types of capital and maintenance projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV.
Additionally, you will assist the team, as well as independently perform: engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, plans, and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents. In this collaborative environment, you will be working alongside project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management. The position provides the opportunity for you to develop an engineering team with direct report responsibilities. While also being accountable for managing client relations, proposal development, scope creation, and project management.

In addition, the successful candidate will be involved in applying AI, automation, and digital design platforms to streamline grid modernization and increase design efficiency.
Location: This position is 100% REMOTE; preference is for candidate to reside in Texas but all candidates residing anywhere in the U.S. will be considered.
