Job Summary
Utility Pipeline Ltd. (Appalachian Natural Gas Distribution Company) is searching for a Gas Utility Technician who would primarily operate throughout Hillsville, Galax, and Floyd in Carroll County, Virginia. Ideally, this person would be located in Hillsville or surrounding areas. The office/shop is located in Hillsville and this individual would report daily to that location. Experience in the Natural Gas distribution field is a plus. This is a full-time position with benefits.
General Responsibilities
Respond to various work orders
Line locating
Leak surveys, inspections, and compliance-related tasks
Annual maintenance of pipelines and facilities
Install and remove meters
Meter reading and install ERTs
Install pipelines, taps, and services
Oversee and inspect sub-contractors on assigned projects
Maintain company vehicle and equipment
Complete necessary paperwork for daily tasks
On-call rotation/emergency call outs
Job Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1+ years of related experience preferred but not required
Valid and clean driver’s license
Willing and able to pass a drug and alcohol test (pre-employment and random)
Willing to complete required online training and pipeline safety training programs
