The Lead Mold Remediation Technician role manages remediation projects and represents GHS with customers. ABOUT THE JOB
Reporting to local owners, you will lead technicians in performing air quality testing, mold remediation, and crawl space encapsulation while helping grow the local team.
Primary responsibilities:
Technical Execution: Perform advanced remediation, including basic demolition (drywall, baseboards, flooring), application of EPA-registered fungicides, vapor barrier installation, strategic placement of air movers/dehumidifiers, and limited non-structural rough-in reconstruction.
Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead and supervise other technicians on-site while working alongside them to ensure all projects meet our high standards.
Safety Enforcement: Enforce safety practices, ensuring all personnel use appropriate PPE, including respirators and Tyvek suits.
Customer Relations: Deliver exceptional customer service, treating property with care and acting as the company’s representative to resolve on-site concerns.
Operational Logistics: Drive company vehicles, manage equipment loading, and ensure proper disposal of materials while maintaining an immaculate worksite.
Quality & Maintenance: Ensure job sites, company vans, and equipment are kept clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Digital Documentation: Use provided tools to maintain accurate, high-quality project documentation, including detailed work reports and progress photographs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Candidates must possess strong structural knowledge. This is a hands-on leadership role.
Required qualifications
2+ years of experience in mold remediation and/or water damage restoration.
Proven proficiency setting up critical containment zones (engineering controls, poly sheeting, decontamination chambers).
Experience leading projects from initial containment through to structural treatment and completion.
English fluency (oral and written); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Comfortable working in confined spaces (crawlspaces/attics) and wearing full PPE for extended periods.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry equipment up/down stairs.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record and access to dependable transportation.
Professional, positive team player with high school education or equivalent.
Additional preferred qualifications
2+ years of residential or commercial construction experience, with understanding of framing, wall assemblies, and structural layouts.
Proficiency with non-structural rough-in reconstruction (hanging/prepping drywall).
Experience as a Lead or Senior Technician.
Experience with indoor air quality services (HVAC/duct cleaning).
Active restoration certifications (e.g., IICRC WRT/AMRT, ACAC CRIE).
Experience interacting directly with customers and post-secondary education.
