The Project Engineer plays a key role in shaping high-performing building enclosures, bringing strong technical expertise in building science, envelope design, and enclosure construction. This role leads projects from investigation and design through construction documentation and on-site field reviews, acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the process. You will evaluate complex building conditions, develop practical and durable solutions for both new and existing buildings, and contribute to projects that demand technical rigor and creativity. The role includes mentoring junior staff, supporting project delivery and project health, and influencing outcomes related to quality, schedule, and client experience, with clear opportunities to step into broader leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical execution of building enclosure projects of moderate scope and complexity
Independently complete investigations, analysis, design, documentation, and field reviews across regional projects
Deliver assigned scopes within budget and schedule while maintaining strong technical quality
Complete project administration tasks to support effective project management
Act as a day-to-day client contact, anticipate needs, and identify future opportunities
Mentor and train junior staff, reviewing work and providing task-level guidance
Navigate team conflicts and ethical considerations professionally
Embed health and safety into project planning and field activities
Support responsible stewardship of company resources
Stamp documents as required (Engineer or Architect)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Science, or a related discipline from an accredited university
5+ years of relevant experience in building enclosure consulting, building science, or a related field
Professional Engineer or Architect registration, or actively working toward licensure, with ability to stamp as required
Demonstrated experience leading technical components of projects and supporting project financial performance
Skills and Competencies
Strong technical knowledge of building science principles, enclosure systems, building codes, and construction practices
Ability to lead technical components of projects and deliver high quality work with minimal oversight
Experience managing project scope, budgets, and schedules effectively
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and provide constructive feedback
Clear and professional communication with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Sound judgment when navigating complex technical challenges or ethical considerations
Proactive approach to client service, with the ability to anticipate needs and identify opportunities

The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000 annualized for a full-time role. Salary is dependent various factors, including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. You may also be eligible for discretionary incentives and share ownership.
