Job DetailsJob Location: Corporate Office - Farmington Hills - Farmington Hills, MI 48331Position Type: Full TimeJob Category: TrainingThe Multifamily Training Specialist is a member of the Friedman Training Department responsible for supporting the onboarding, training, and continued development of employees across our multifamily portfolio.
This position is ideal for an experienced multifamily professional who is passionate about developing others and is looking to transition into a career in training. Working closely with the Training Department, Regional Managers, and onsite teams, the Training Specialist will facilitate training programs, coach employees, support new hire onboarding, reinforce company processes, and provide hands-on assistance with operational systems and best practices.
This is a field-based position requiring regular travel to multifamily communities throughout the Friedman portfolio this would include the occasional travel to out-of-state properties to support training initiatives, new hire onboarding, software implementations, and special projects.
Responsibilities
Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and onsite training using curriculum developed by the Friedman Training Department.
Support onboarding and continued development of new Community Managers, Assistant Community Managers, Leasing Consultants, and other onsite team members.
Coach employees on company policies, procedures, customer service, leasing best practices, time management, and operational standards.
Conducting trainings and one-on-one support on-site with properties within the Friedman portfolio
Reinforce Training Department initiatives and provide follow-up support to ensure successful application of learned skills.
Train employees on company systems including Yardi, Aspire, CRM IQ, Procure to Pay, HappyCo, Microsoft Teams, and other business applications.
Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including assigning learning plans, tracking completion, and maintaining training records.
Collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to maintain training materials and support company-wide training initiatives.
Provide support through the Training Helpdesk and assist employees with system and process questions.
Travel to local and out-of-state properties to provide onsite training, employee coaching, operational support, and assistance with special projects.
Represent the Friedman Training Department professionally while building positive relationships with employees and leadership.
Minimum of 2-5 years of Multifamily Property Management experience.
Strong knowledge of apartment leasing, resident relations, customer service, move-ins, move-outs, renewals, collections, and daily property operations.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
Experience working with Yardi or other property management software.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
Previous training, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, or facilitation experience.
Experience with Yardi, Aspire, CRM IQ, HappyCo, Procure to Pay, or similar property management systems.
Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS).
Experience creating training materials, job aids, or standard operating procedures.
Experience supporting software rollouts or operational change initiatives.
Regular travel to multifamily communities throughout the Friedman portfolio
Occasional overnight and out-of-state travel to support onboarding, training initiatives, software rollouts, acquisitions, and special projects.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
