Job Description – Medical Receptionist
Classification FSLA
Non-Exempt - hourly

Office Manager
Summary/Objective This job operates in a medical office facility. Sits at desk, routinely uses standard office equipment, computers, phones, photocopiers, scanner, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Essential Functions
Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office.
Providing directions or information to patients to ensure they are in the right location for visit/procedure.
Assisting patients with digital check-in or manual completion of forms.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Scanning pertinent information into EMR including insurance, identification, and authorization documents.
Collects co-pays and processes patient payments.
Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by completing check-in of appointments in a timely fashion with the ability to multitask.
Act as the patient intake software liaison when technical issues arise.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
Participates in the training of new staff members.
End of day balancing to ensure all payments have been posted and applied accordingly.
Handles all calls to the front desk as it relates to insurance and check in process.
Maintains a working relationship with the medical receptionists at satellite medical offices and staff members of other departments.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Demands This position requires the ability to bend or stand, sit as necessary and view computer screens for extended periods of time.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00am and 5:00pm and Saturdays when necessary. Schedules may vary. Due to the nature of the work this position is not eligible for tele-commuting.
Travel
Minimal, between offices if needed.
