The Patient Care Specialist provides supportive patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse. The Unit Assistant facilitates unit operations, including clerical work and specified patient care duties.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a State of Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. Vocational/Technical School/Diploma is preferred.
Under the direction of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Specialist is responsible and accountable for providing supportive patient care. The Unit Assistant assumes the responsibility for facilitating unit operations under the direction of the registered nurse, including clerical work, stocking, ordering, and transporting as well as specified patient care duties.
