The Utilization Management Team Lead monitors the daily work of UM Coordinators to ensure documentation accuracy and policy compliance. They also act as the primary point of contact for team inquiries, training, and the maintenance of performance reports.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and at least three years of healthcare experience, with a preference for two years in a Utilization Management role. Proficiency in medical terminology and experience with medical office billing, collections, and authorizations are required.

Monitor the daily work of Utilization Management (UM) Coordinators to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance with the UM policies and procedures. -
Create, monitor and maintain various reports for the Utilization Management Coordinators and Supervisors. -
Review, research and resolve incoming inquiries from various entities, updating any information required in the appropriate system. -
Act as point of contact for questions, assistance and training to the UM team. -
Complete the training progress report with each trainee.
High School diploma or GED required. -
Three (3) years of experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a business office setting.
At least two (2) years prior experience in a Utilization Management Coordinator position is preferred. -
Experience obtaining authorizations, billing, and collections in a medical office or hospital setting is required. -
Must be experienced in Medical terminology and have a strong attention to detail. -
High degree of accuracy in dealing with authorization issues is required.
Strong communication, multi-tasking and interpersonal skills needed to deal with a wide variety of personalities.
