The Corporate Counsel provides legal support for securities disclosure obligations, corporate governance, and SEC/NYSE compliance matters. Responsibilities include drafting regulatory filings, managing insider trading policies, and supporting equity compensation and funding programs.
Candidates must hold a law degree and be a member in good standing with a U.S. bar. A minimum of 3 years of legal experience in securities law, corporate governance, or capital markets is required.

In this role, you will provide legal counsel and business support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with your primary focus on legal matters related to securities and corporate governance. This position will support CarMax’s compliance with securities disclosure obligations, corporate governance responsibilities, and SEC and NYSE compliance matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the CarMax Home Office in Richmond, VA and Associates will work onsite 4 days per week.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The annual salary for this position is:
$143,800.00 - $230,100.00Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.
Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:
Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
