Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations to identify heart defects, blood flow abnormalities, and rhythm irregularities. Administers IV contrast, maintains medical supplies using aseptic techniques, and ensures accurate documentation of echo exams.
Requires an associate's degree in a relevant field and current ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) certification. Candidates must have at least one year of relevant experience and the ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call hours.

Work Shift: (40 hrs. per week )M-F 6:00AM to 4:00PM, 4 day a week 10 hour shift. In addition to weekends. Including on call hours on a rotating schedule
Work Location: University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Cardiac Echo Lab UTower
Searches for abnormalities in blood flow sounds or heart rhythm, oxygen saturation and the appearance of heart defects or irregularities using ultrasound equipment.
Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary, and explains procedures to patients.
Performs Venipuncture for insertion of venous catheter for contrast administration
Administer IV contrast during the performance of contrast echocardiograms.
After education on indications, contraindications and side effects.
Performs the quality control functions.
Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality.
Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
Processes echo exams with appropriate medical history and match it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
Performs other related duties incidental to the work therein.

Associate’s degree in relevant field
