The PT Tech assists physical therapists in restoring guest functioning and preventing disability following injury or disease. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, managing equipment, and performing clerical and cleaning duties.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a current BLS certification. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
The PT Tech assists with restoration of guest functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability under the direct supervision of the staff physical therapist. Assist guests to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning. Perform clerical duties, assist with posting of guest charges, participate in all infection control, departmental equipment training, and all safety programs.
• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization
• Responsible for providing specific treatment only as directed by the staff physical therapist.
• Ability to monitor vital signs
• Communicate any changes in condition to staff physical therapist or other facility personnel as
appropriate
• Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly
• Interact professionally with guests/family and involves them in the formation of the plan of care
• Prepare and clean treatment area for guest use. Perform final cleaning at close of day
• Record treatment/service revisions in accordance with department policy
• Demonstrate ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situation
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Adhere to dress code
• Complete annual education requirements.
• Maintain guest confidentiality at all times.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Wear identification while on duty.
• Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
• Communicate the mission, ethics and goals of the organization.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire

• Position requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
Breaks, sprains, dislocations or tears, we treat any orthopedic injury 7 days a week in Austin, DFW and Oklahoma City.
DOC is a team of board-certified orthopedic surgeons, pain management specialists, orthopedic specialty-trained physician assistants and physical therapists. We work within the Pioneer Health System to provide superior, coordinated care through initial injury, surgery and the healing process. DOC clinics are walk-in, immediate-access orthopedic treatment centers open 7 days a week with no appointment necessary. Guests with an orthopedic injury or chronic condition can receive immediate care by orthopedic specialists without the time or expense of an ER visit.
