The Training Instructor develops and delivers technical training programs to ensure fleet maintenance employees operate safely and efficiently. They are responsible for assessing training needs, maintaining instructional materials, and evaluating employee performance through hands-on and classroom instruction.
Candidates must have at least four years of experience in vehicle maintenance or technical instruction and possess or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. An Associate’s degree in a related field such as Automotive or Diesel Technology is required, though equivalent experience may be substituted.
The Training Instructor - Fleet Maintenance plays a critical role in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Trinity Metro’s fleet by ensuring maintenance employees receive the knowledge, skills, and training necessary to perform their duties effectively. The Training Instructor will assist in assessing the developmental and technical training needs of Fleet Maintenance employees, developing and delivering appropriate training programs, and evaluating employee progress and training effectiveness. The position will have a Training Specialist under them to help maintain training standards, records, materials, and programs that promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout Fleet Maintenance.
Graduation from an accredited college or technical school with an Associate’s degree or sixty (60) credit hours in Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Vocational Instruction, Transportation, or another field directly related to vehicle repair and maintenance or training.
Any combination of experience, training, and/or education that provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills may substitute for the required education.
