The Warehouse Assistant I is responsible for replenishing finished goods inventory and filling customer orders. Key tasks include receiving materials, inspecting for defects, and packing shipments according to manifests.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of relevant warehouse experience. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and the capacity to work in an environment with noise and temperature extremes are required.

Position Overview: Warehouse Assistant I
Wilsonart, in Columbus, currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant I. This person performs warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fills customer orders, inspects material and packs material for shipment as needed in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors
•Checks and places materials in the correct bin
•Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies
•Informs supervisor and photographs all defective materials
•Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders
•Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders
•Performs total skid count for loads
•Adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures
•Assists the needs of the customer
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
