Salary Range: $43.467.00 - $56,000.00 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
This position will work as a participating team member in the integrated care model of the UCCS Wellness Center that includes physical health, mental health, nutrition and wellness promotion in collaboration with Campus Recreation. This position will assist in the implementation of wellness promotion programs grounded in an integrated and holistic approach to health and wellbeing with a focus on mental health, emotional wellbeing, and skill-building, while also contributing to broader wellness topics as needed. This position will work collaboratively with Recreation and Wellness staff as well as campus partners in promoting a culture of wellbeing for faculty, staff, and students. This position will also provide case management services for students, connecting them with on campus and off campus resources, based on their specific needs. Additionally, this position will provide support to the CARE team as one of the case managers. Finally, this position will adhere to the expectations and professional responsibilities of the department, employ the standards, practices, and procedures of the department and complete and comply with UCCS training requirements including HIPAA and FERPA.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Wellness promotion (50%25)
Collaborates within and across disciplines and departments to plan and execute wellbeing initiatives, programs and events.
Provides resources and trains faculty, staff and students on resiliency, belonging and mindfulness practices and partners with faculty to implement practices into classroom curriculum.
Works with a team of students and professionals to develop promotional and educational program materials, and at times may create marketing, and social media posts.
Creates and administers assessment measures for wellness promotion programs and ensures program specific data is collected from Wellness Promotion events.
Creates, schedules, and delivers interactive trainings, workshops, and classroom presentations on a variety of mental health and wellbeing topics in collaboration with other campus partners.
Serves as a speaker/consultant on mental health and emotional wellbeing topics, and provides support on additional wellness areas (e.g., sleep, stress management, physical activity, substance use) as needed.
Leads the promotion, visibility, and campus‑wide engagement for the Skills for Optimizing Student Success (SOS) program, serving as the primary point.
Non-clinical case management services (50%25)
Provides ongoing Skills for Optimizing Student Success (SOS) individual meetings, group sessions, presentations and campuswide education.
Collaborates closely with the Dean of Student’s Office within the scope of case management duties.
Attends all Student Support meetings through the CARE team to connect students with on- and off-campus resources.
Attend the CARE team meeting, as needed, when the Lead Case Manager is unable to attend to help determine if students on CARE team would benefit from the case manager’s support. Then collaborate and coordinate with the Dean of Students’ Office, to provide the most thorough and effective support possible.
Attend to referrals from Wellness Center staff to research, find, and connect the best resources that are accessible for our students. These resources may be clinical in nature (e.g. student is graduating, so they need to find a community clinician they can work with, based on their insurance coverage, clinical needs, financial and transportation needs, etc.); or they may be non-clinical (e.g. connecting the student with TESSA’s legal team, or helping the student find a low-income housing option, etc.).
Taking self-referrals from UCCS staff and faculty and then determining the needs of the community members and connecting them with the appropriate resources and services in the community.
Carrying out needs assessments for each individual case so that an appropriate level of care is determined and planned. This may be carried out solo with interviews, or if there is a need for assessment of clinical mental health condition, in collaboration with the WCMHS clinicians who serve on the CARE team.
If there is a need, helping students practice emotion regulation skills, basic assertiveness, and other interpersonal skills to be able to improve accessibility of resources.
Once the referrals are made, following up with each case to make sure the needs are met; if not, continuing to work with the case until the established services and the resources start to benefit the individual.

A master’s degree in from an accredited university in Health Promotion, Public Health, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or similar field is required.

To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated experience in establishing resources and managing individual cases for mental health needs.
Candidates that are fluent in Spanish and can provide services to UCCS community in Spanish are highly desired.
The ideal candidate will also have post-graduate training and certifications in a mental health, health/wellness-related field (e.g. QPR, HeartMath, Certified Peer Educator, Health Coach, Mental Health First Aid, or BASICS).
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a higher education wellness field.
