The Associate Placement Specialist will develop and execute medical professional liability renewal strategies while negotiating coverage terms and managing client relationships. They are responsible for ensuring compliance with professional standards and supporting client retention through active participation in RFPs and coverage reviews.
Candidates must possess a college degree and 3-6 years of relevant insurance industry experience. A Property & Casualty (P&C) license is required or must be obtained within three months of employment.
Marsh is seeking candidates to join our Healthcare Placement team focused on medical professional liability based in our New York or Chicago office locations. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Work in conjunction with Marsh’s healthcare client team to develop and execute medical professional liability renewal strategy, select (re)insurers to approach, negotiate broad coverage terms, produce and present program recommendations and complete documentation of all placement activities.
Foster relationships within your team, colleagues, clients, carriers to provide cohesive client service.
Consult management on complex client issues or trends through clear and concise communication and participate in development of solutions
Ensure client renewal transactions are compliant with professional standards.
Assist in special projects within team.
Consult with client executives and client teams to support client retention and new business production such as active participation in RFPs and coverage reviews
Coverage expertise to be able neg and drive optimal terms on behalf of our healthcare clients
Thorough review of all quotes, binders, and policies to ensure accuracy of coverage placed
Work towards:
A solid knowledge of market risk issues, insurance brokerage, account management, servicing, and sales skills
A detailed understanding of changing insurance and risk management market conditions
College degree
3-6 years of insurance industry or relevant experience
P&C licensed, OR ability to obtain within 3 months of employment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and the ability to learn proprietary applications/databases
Medical professional liability experience
Ability to work in teams and cultivate relationships
Analytical thinker and problem solver
Intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset
Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.
Demonstrated leadership skills or has taken initiative within school, work and/or community
Attention to detail
