Foundation Chief of Staff
Position Highlights
This role serves as a trusted partner to the President of Texas Health Resources Foundation. Acting as an extension of the President's office, this role advances the Foundation's philanthropic mission by driving organizational priorities through strategic planning, executive communications, stakeholder engagement, board support, cross-functional leadership, and execution of high-priority initiatives.
The Chief of Staff works across Foundation leadership, hospital executives, physicians, board members, donors, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment, facilitate information flow, and drive execution of strategic objectives. The role exercises a high degree of independent judgment, manages sensitive and complex matters and serves as a key liaison supporting executive decision-making and organizational effectiveness.
Work location: Texas Health Resources (The position operates in a hybrid work environment with a combination of on-site, remote, and community-based responsibilities)
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Executive Leadership . This role serves as a member of the leadership team providing thought partnership to the President in identifying, evaluating, and advancing Foundation priorities and initiatives. . Supports executive decision-making through research, analysis, issue assessment, and development of recommendations. . Manages and monitors strategic initiatives sponsored by the President. . Identifies emerging issues, risks, trends, and opportunities requiring executive awareness and action. . Coordinates execution of Foundation-wide priorities involving multiple leaders and stakeholder groups. . Acts as an extension of the President's office to facilitate alignment and accountability across strategic initiatives
Presidential Support & Coordination . Manages the organization and prioritization of the President's commitments, strategic priorities, and follow up activities to ensure timely and accurate execution . Prepares the President for meetings, engagements, and strategic discussions through well-crafted briefing documents, talking points, and background research . Coordinates logistics for leadership meetings, board sessions, and donor events, managing details from planning through execution . Serves as a coordinating resource across the Foundation’s leadership team by connecting the stakeholders, consolidating information, and keeping shared priorities organized and strategy-aligned . Produces agendas, materials, and action item summaries for leadership meetings, and tracks follow-up progress on behalf of the President
Executive Communications & Writing . Develops executive communications, speeches, presentations, board materials, briefings, newsletters, and talking points and other high-profile communications on behalf of the President. . Translates complex organizational information into concise and actionable executive-level communications. . Gathers information from senior leaders and stakeholders to support executive messaging. . Reviews and refine high-profile communications and external-facing materials. . Ensures consistency in messaging and alignment with Foundation priorities
Stakeholder & Board Relations . Builds and maintains effective relationships with Foundation leadership, board members, physicians, donors, Texas Health executives, consultants, and community partners. . Prepares board meeting presentations and supporting documents in support of the President . Develops board communications and philanthropic updates that keep stakeholders informed of Foundation priorities, achievements, and strategic initiatives. . Represents the President with professionalism, discretion, and a high level of service in interactions with board members, donors, Texas Health senior executives, and Foundation staff . Ensures timely follow-up on strategic commitments, stakeholder action items, and board-related initiatives, promoting accountability and alignment with Foundation priorities. . Manages sensitive information and relationships with discretion and sound judgment
Strategic Initiative & Project Leadership . Leads execution of strategic initiative and special projects assigned by the President, coordinating across teams to drive timely, high-quality, strategy-aligned outcomes . Establishes project plans, timelines, milestones, and success measures while monitoring progress toward strategic objectives. . Drives execution of cross-functional initiatives by fostering collaboration, maintaining stakeholder alignment, and ensuring follow-through from planning through completion.
Education Bachelor's Degree required
Experience 7 years progressively responsible experience in business operations, strategic planning, consulting, communications, healthcare administration, philanthropy, executive leadership support, or related fields required

Gathers and synthesizes information from multiple sources including people, data, and organizational knowledge and translates it into clear, compelling narratives tailored to the right audience and channel Navigates complex organizations with savvy, professionalism, and discretion Builds trusted relationships at all levels, bringing genuine warmth and a customer-service orientation to every interaction, whether with donors, board members, executives, or colleagues Exercises sound judgment, critical thinking, and independent decision-making when assessing issues, establishing priorities, and recommending solutions. Handles highly confidential and sensitive information with integrity, sound judgment, and appropriate discretion. Demonstrates the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy while recognizing when executive consultation or approval is required. Operates with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; familiarity with donor database systems a plus Serves as a collaborative and adaptable team member who thrives in a fast-paced, achievement-oriented environment and is committed to supporting the success of others.
