Description
PURPOSE OF JOB:
This position is responsible for functioning as an entry-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in most areas, specializing in oil changes and tire rotations, while providing a high level of customer service.
JOB DUTIES:
Operations
Perform oil and filter changes.
Replenish vehicle fluids, lubricate joints and fittings as needed.
Ensure vehicle lubrication and maintenance is performed as required by manufacturer.
Complete multi-point vehicle inspections, including but not limited to inspections of: batteries, filters, fluids, tire pressures and conditions, basic safety and maintenance items
Perform routine servicing activities as needed.
Conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles and pre-owned vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer.
Drive vehicles in and around the premises as needed.
Professionalism
Maintains an increasingly broad knowledge of how a vehicle’s complex components work and interact.
Ensure that required documentation is complete and complies with regulations and dealership standards.
Adapt to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Maintain cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs.
Assist other technicians as needed.
General
Prompt and regular attendance.
Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management.
Travel as business needs may require, currently expected to be minimal.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Personally commit to quality in all aspects of work.
Provide “World Class Customer Service” for internal and external customers.
Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement.
Participate on teams to research, measure, and correct problems and to strive for process improvement.
Communicate and exemplify the Company’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Values, and Philosophy.
Attend at least ten (10) credit hours of training annually to continue development of work-related skills.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma/equivalent is minimally required.
Experience:
1+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
Must possess a thorough knowledge of customer service excellence and effectively interact with customers.
Must maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced automotive sales environment.
Strong communications skills.
Strong attention to details.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to drive and operate both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles.
Must possess and continuously maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
