Perform mechanical and electrical inspections and commissioning tests on utility PV power plants. Document all test results and assist with system troubleshooting and corrective actions.
Requires three years of industrial electrical experience or two years as a Commissioning Tech I, with a preference for a high school diploma and PV training. Must be able to read electrical diagrams and use specialized commissioning test equipment.
Responsible for working within a team to perform required system inspections on utility PV power plants. Perform mechanical/electrical inspections and commissioning testing. Document all inspections, observations, and test results. Communicate inspections, observations, and test results with Commissioning CM/GF. Document and assist with PV system troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Assist with the inspection and testing of PV plants to specifications and contract documents • Complete all commissioning documentation during inspection • Document all outstanding issues and deliver all documentation in a neat and orderly manner for review by the General Foreman and Commissioning Manager • Perform LOTO duties as outlined by the company and site-specific policies • Perform field test data entry as needed • Perform final visual and mechanical inspections on equipment before energization date • Support third party testing and inspections. (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests, etc.) • Ensure proper use of PPE and conformity to safety procedures by all employees • Keep testing equipment clean and orderly at all times. Ensure calibration is up to date. • Report any missing or broken tools to CM/GF and inform CM/GF when consumable supplies are low • Care for and maintain all issued PPE in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications • Work together and take lead of other Techs ensuring quality of work and adherence to all safety procedures • Other duties as assigned
