Full job description
Build Your Future with Hyphen While Our Clients Build Homes with Your Support.
We Build a Trusted Homebuilder Network, Unifying the Construction Supply Chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a hands-on product ownership role, not a strategy-only seat. As Product Owner, you’ll be the person closest to the product and the customers, making daily prioritization calls, managing a small cross-functional team, and ensuring HomeFront continues to solve real problems for homebuilders.
There are four parallel tracks to balance as the Product Owner:
Growing the product - driving new customer acquisition, increasing platform adoption (DAU/MAU), and expanding HomeFront’s market share among small to mid-sized home builders.
Leading the productteam – be an effective leader and hold the team accountable for expected outcomes
Managing the platform modernization - managing the day-to-day execution of a major initiative to rewrite HomeFront as a browser-based web application built on .NET web services and Blazor.
Championing AI across the product and team - identifying opportunities to embed AI-powered features into Homefront that deliver real value to builders, and leveraging AI tools and workflows to accelerate how the team works day-to-day.
The Management owns the strategic vision. Your job is to execute — own the backlog, run the day-to-day product and project management, and be the voice of the customer in every decision.
Responsibilities of the Product Owner:
Own the HomeFront product suite end-to-end: roadmap execution, backlog prioritization, and release planning
Drive new customer acquisition by ensuring the product delivers compelling value to small and mid-sized builders
Manage a team of 5 (1 BA/ Scrum Master, 1 QA Engineer, 1 Senior Developer, 3 Junior Developers), with the team expected to grow over time
Serve as the primary voice of the customer - gather feedback, identify pain points, and translate them into actionable product improvements
Maintain and improve the legacy application while the new platform is built
Develop and execute a roadmap of initiatives tied to measurable KPIs
Work directly with customers to pursue continued understanding of builder workflows, business process demands and requirements, and utilization necessities
Collaborate with the Director of Product on strategic direction while owning tactical execution
Lead the planning of product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
Take responsibility to resolve concerns and problems (i.e., communication, trust and respect) within the team, department, and with customers
Identify and prioritize AI-powered features that simplify builder workflows
Use AI-driven tools and workflows in day-to-day work to accelerate product delivery, research, and decision-making
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty as described above satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field preferred, and 5+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS
Strong business acumen and understanding of business operations
Solid understanding of ERP systems, accounting software, and how they integrate with operational platforms
Comfort with business process workflows from transaction origination, the evolution of it, and how it flows through a system
A bias toward execution through intimate involvement in the product to deliver quality work that drives customer utilization and reliance of the product
Experience in a customer-facing –role with comfortability leading conversations with builders and translating their needs into product decisions
Experience managing or working closely with small Agile development teams
Ability to analyze business problems, develop practical solutions, and clearly communicate requirements to the scrum team.
Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate opportunities for determining what gets built and delivered to customers
In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
Experience driving user adoption and growth metrics (DAU/MAU)
AI-first mindset by actively implementing and using AI tools (coding assistants, research tools, writing aids, automation) to multiply productivity for all team members
Demonstrated ability to identify where AI can solve real user problems and translate that into shipped product features
Treat all employees and customers with dignity, respect and courtesy
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to the residential homebuilding industry or construction technology
Familiarity .NET, Blazor, or legacy application modernization efforts
Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud-hosted application environments
Experience shipping AI/ML-powered features in a SaaS product (chatbots, recommendation engines, predictive analytics, generative AI integrations)
Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Sage 300 or QuickBooks Online/ Desktop accounting system integrations

Hyphen Solutions has been providing industry-leading construction management software to Home Builders, Suppliers and Manufacturers since 1999. By utilizing technology, Builders and Suppliers can focus on what they do best: deliver quality, customer satisfaction, safety and continuous process improvements. For Home Builders of all sizes, including production, semi-custom and custom home builders, Hyphen created BuildPro, the most widely used software-as-a-service application among North American Home Builders to schedule their residential construction projects. To support the everchanging needs of builders in the industry, Hyphen has developed an array of products to support different business needs from ERP to payment processing and more.
For suppliers, contractors, trades, distributors and manufacturers, Hyphen created SupplyPro. Its users benefit from having an online portal they can use to view each job by task and its status and schedules in real-time, aggregated in one application for all their builders. Hyphen has created the next generation of SupplyPro, SupplyPro GM, to support large volumes of construction jobs and to provide the flexibility needed to support this. By digitally joining the web-based portion of the home building industry, Hyphen’s applications reduce cycle time to complete builds and allows management real-time access to job status and the ability to manage resources accordingly. This improves business results, provides lenders perfect knowledge of underwriting construction status and provides home buyers real-time access to the delivery schedule.
