The technician is responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment. They must also maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures and manage inventory levels to ensure clinical readiness.
A high school diploma or GED is required for this position. Candidates must obtain CRCST certification within 18 months of hire, though training is provided.
Responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring their proper functionality and sterility to prevent infection within a healthcare facility, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols established by regulatory agencies.
