The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and accurate movement of raw materials and finished goods throughout the manufacturing facility. This role ensures production lines are properly supplied while maintaining inventory accuracy and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and 0-1 years of work experience. The role requires the ability to operate material handling equipment and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of raw materials, components, and finished goods throughout Plaskolite’s manufacturing and distribution facilities. This role ensures production areas are properly supplied, materials are correctly stored, and shipments are prepared and handled according to company standards and customer requirements.
The Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by maintaining accurate inventory levels, following established material handling procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position plays a key role in the overall flow of materials and supports Plaskolite’s operational efficiency and commitment to excellence.
This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality—reflecting Plaskolite’s core values of Integrity and Improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely load, unload, move, and store materials, components, and finished products using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
Supply raw materials to production lines and remove finished goods in accordance with production schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Transfer materials between workstations, warehouses, and storage areas as required to support continuous production flow.
Verify material quantities, part numbers, and lot information to ensure accuracy in transactions and inventory movements.
Maintain accurate records of material movements in the inventory management or warehouse management system (WMS).
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage or defects, reporting any issues to supervision or quality personnel.
Support shipping and receiving operations by staging materials, labeling products, and assisting with loading and unloading of trucks.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe equipment operation.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of material handling areas, aisles, and storage locations in compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability.
Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial vehicles in accordance with company safety standards and certification requirements.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Distribution teams to ensure materials are available when needed and that workflow disruptions are minimized.
Assist in the identification and proper handling of nonconforming or excess materials.
Support sustainability and recycling efforts by properly sorting and disposing of packaging and scrap materials.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, operators, and logistics personnel to ensure efficient coordination of material flow.
Monitor and report low inventory levels or potential shortages to appropriate personnel for timely replenishment.
Support loading and unloading of outbound and inbound shipments, ensuring accuracy and safe handling practices.
Follow standard procedures for labeling, wrapping, and packaging materials to prevent damage and maintain product quality.
Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational and safety excellence.
Perform routine equipment checks, report mechanical issues promptly, and support maintenance teams as required.
Adhere to Plaskolite’s “One Plaskolite” culture by demonstrating teamwork, integrity, and respect in all interactions.
