The Histotechnician is responsible for specimen processing, tissue preparation, and the production of high-quality histology slides for diagnostic review. Key duties include performing microtomy, H&E staining, and managing Special Stains and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures.
Candidates must hold HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification and a Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in Histology. A minimum of two years of experience in a histology laboratory is required, with dermatopathology experience preferred.
We are seeking a PRN Florida-licensed Histotechnician (HT/HTL ASCP) to join our dermatopathology laboratory in Tampa, Florida (Academic Alliance in Dermatology). This position provides as-needed support during periods of increased laboratory volume, staff PTO, and unexpected absences. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on laboratory needs.

Morning availability is required to support embedding, microtomy, and other core histology workflow.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Laboratory Director, the Histotechnician is responsible for specimen processing, tissue preparation, slide production, quality control, and maintenance of laboratory records. The Histotechnician follows established laboratory procedures and ensures the accurate and timely preparation of high-quality histology slides for diagnostic review.
