The engineer will perform safety analyses and assessments to ensure software compliance with NASA policies for human-rated space flight launch vehicles. Responsibilities include developing System Safety Assessments, reviewing code in C/C++/Python, and verifying safety controls during test events.
Candidates must be US citizens with a bachelor's degree in a software or aerospace-related engineering field and at least one year of related experience. Knowledge of the software development life cycle and familiarity with NASA or military safety standards is required or desired.
The Junior Software Safety Engineer will support Safety and Mission Assurance for NASA in Huntsville, AL.
The safety engineer will perform analyses and assessments related to safety; conduct reviews and analyses of engineering design concepts and assure compliance with NASA safety policies and standards for software. The software is used to qualify launch vehicles for human-rated space flight.
